How to Embed Instagram Photos or Videos on Your Website

Have you been capturing beautiful moments in your photographs or videos? Now you don't need to worry about purchasing a digital camera or video camera, as smart devices such as smartphones or tablet computers are capable of capturing and processing of still photographs and moving visual images. Hmm... Smartphones and photography. I wouldn't be surprised if you are murmuring "Instagram" right now. Aren't you?

Showcase Instagram Content

If you are on Instagram, you know how it works already. You need to have the Instagram application installed in your mobile device, and the moments you capture through it can be transformed into something wonderful and store in your account to share with your Instagram friends. But, what about showcasing your Instagram photos or videos to everyone, including non-Instagram users?

Simply, you can share corresponding links to your Instagram images or videos with everyone. HA... Instead, you wanna embed them on your blog or website?

Embed Photos / Videos

You almost know about embedding Instagram photos, as we already discussed about a third-party widget, capable of displaying your photos - SnapWidget. It allows you to display Instagram photos on your site, with different types of customization options. It was cool!

If you don't need different custom options and just looking for embedding your Instagram content, now you don't need any third party widgets at all. It's official! Now Instagram let you embed its content easily on your blog or website.

Let's start with a demonstration. Below you can find an embedded Instagram photo from a friend of mine. Don't you love how it renders?

Along with the image, it shows off my friend's Instagram profile and links back to it. So you don't need to worry about mentioning where it comes from. Further, visitors can hover over Instagram logo if they wish to view it on Instagram. At the bottom of embedded photo, you can find corresponding like and comment count too.

If you are curious about the safety of embedded Instagram images, the good news is, no one can download your embedded images. Yet, taking an screenshot of embedded image is possible though. I believe you are careful enough about what images you store in your Instagram account. Else you might be committing a mistake.

Are you excited to embed some wonderful Instagram photos or videos on your blog or website? ;) Let's proceed with steps below.

Steps:

1. Navigate to Instagram website.

2. Locate the image you wanna embed and click on it to view specific photo / video page.

Note: If you wanna embed a photo / video you come across on your stream, click on the button labeled with ... and click on View Photo Page or View Video Page option.

3. Once you directed to the photo / video page, click on the ... button and select the Embed option.

4. Now you will get the specific embed code for the selected image or video. Click on Copy Embed Code button to grab it.

5. It's almost ready. Now you just need to paste the copied embed code anywhere on your blog or website.

Note: If you are a Blogger user and wanna render it in a Blogger post or page, read How to Embed External Content on Your Blogger Posts or Pages.

Enjoy :-)

Awesome! Thanks for coming by and taking your time to read this post :) I hope you have learnt something today. Now you can share it with your friends and I'd love to hear from you too.

Hi Mayura,

Another wonderfully explained tutorial :)

Sadly though I've not yet started with Instagram because I've just not had the time to get into it as of now, but it's on my to-do list as my kids love taking pictures through their phones and they keep teasing me when they use theirs with their friends, but that is only lightly I would say.

I know almost everyone is on Instagram nowadays, especially those who love images and pictures and I know if I get onto it once, I will never be able to get off it ;) Because like Pinterest, it is addictive!! But I am bookmarking your page so that when I do start off with it, I'd know exactly where to come.

Thanks for sharing this with us. Have a nice week ahead :)

Hi Mayura,

I'm like Harleena as in I haven't started using Instagram as yet.

I have viewed some great ones recently due to Adrienne using a couple on her blog. I found them really good and thought they explained the subject perfectly.

It's not something I've been considering using myself as I'm not very good with images due to colour recognition, I really have trouble matching colours and could end up with a miss mash.

That's not to say never though Mayura, so like Harleena I'll bookmark the post for future reference.

You do give some great tutorials to help people mate, fair play to you. I like that you include extra instructions for different blogging platforms, that's first class mate.

Catch up soon Mayura, have a great week :)

I love this Mayura and could have used it last week - awesome to know about it now. I ended up using a screen shot of some of mine vs the embed. I'm sure I will think of ways to use it again in the future - maybe on my nature blog site :) You got me thinking Mayura as usual. Thank you!

Hi Mayura,

It's incredible what you can do these days. I do not have a smart phone, even though I am able to take pictures with my phone.

I know I've heard of Instagram before, but don't remember where. Nice to know about how it all works.

Hi Mayura!

I'm not using Instagram YET...but plan to do so. My step son shares all the lovely moments of his kids with me via Instagram and has been pushing me to use it he he. It is on my list.

I would like to put an Instagram into my blog post because of all the craziness going on with using pictures. For the last year, I have been using my own pics on my blog. Even the expensive pictures I have purchased keep changing their "legal notices of how to give credit to them" I just don't have the time to play that game.

With Instagram, I can capture pictures that are more congruent to my blog post. So this is book marked! Hey I just purchased an IPhone a few months ago and I'm still trying to learn how to text. How's that for a good laugh my friend?

Great information. My only question is that when you take a snipping tool and crop the instagram and it is not linking back to the person who did the creation, could be construed as stealing. Everything that you see on the internet belongs to the person who site it came from originally. I think the concept of the instagram is wonderful.

Hi Donna,

Cool! You got an iPhone already and it's time to play with all the apps out there ;)

Gosh... No! Nothing to laugh Donna. Texting will be easier with practice. Instagram is way more easier :D lol... As you stepping into the smartphone World, you will find the craziness yourself :)

You got a point there. It's a pain to deal with all those changes, as we need to follow their guidelines always. You have been doing really great with your own kind of images and hope Instagram will make it more easier. Well, give it a try soon and play with embedding too ;)

Thanks for coming by and contributing your thoughts on Instagram and using images online Donna :)

Hi Arleen,

Indeed! Eventhough it's stated or not, the owner can claim for copyright violations. But the truth is, it's happening everywhere and we can't take all of 'em down though. Gotta be responsible for our own content, even after publishing online ;)

That's something I love too :) It links back to the original source and gives credit to the owner. Don't even need to bother about mentioning. Plus, No one can download the image either. Isn't it cool? :)

Thanks for coming and sharing your thoughts on embedding Instagram content Arleen :)
