Add a Twitter Tab for Your Facebook Page with Woobox

Social Media helps immensely for businesses, brands and organizations to reach out targeted audience online. It doesn't matter if you are a personal blogger seeking no profit out of your content, still social media can help you find likeminded bloggers and readers. You wouldn't mind an increase of readership. Would you? Now let's get to the topic. Do you have a Facebook fan page created to share updates of your blog / website or latest new about your brand, business or organization? Mmm... In addition, you have a related Twitter account too?

Promote Twitter

You just nodded to both questions? That's interesting. How about connecting your Facebook account and Twitter profile to maximize the effectiveness? No, I'm not gonna talk about sending your Facebook updates to Twitter. Neither sending Twitter updates to Facebook.

Few months ago, you learnt how to add Pinterest and Google+ tabs to your Facebook page to get more exposure. Even custom tabs to display customized content as you prefer. Now it's about the little birdie ~ Twitter. Simply you can display a Twitter tab on your Facebook page containing your tweets. Don't you think there will be Twitter lovers among the people stop by on your Facebook page too?

It's about directing visitors landing on your Facebook page and letting them interact with your Twitter profile. You need to exercise the possibilities, isn't it?

Would that be effective? Let's stop predicting and grab the opportunity.

Twitter Tab

Below, you can see how Twitter profile of Mayura4Ever looks like on Twitter.

Oh no... It's Twitter tab on Facebook page. Is it quite similar to the Twitter experience?

The Twitter tab will be updated automatically as your Twitter profile send new tweets. It's not only about showing off your tweets. The visitors stop by on your Twitter tab have the capability of following you on Twitter from there and further they can interact with your tweets by retweeting and/or favoriting them too.

The Twitter tab is capable of inheriting the colors of your Twitter profile. Would you be delighted if it can use the same background image being used in your Twitter account? Yes, it can.

When we talk about displaying tweets, we can't ignore @Mentions or @Replies. Instead of relevant updates, you might be communicating with interested tweeps on Twitter or replying to their tweets too. Would you mind showing them at Twitter tab? Ugh... I don't think it's a good idea as Twitter tab is all about promoting your Twitter profile. No problemo! You can filter unwanted @Mentions and display only relevant tweets that matters by just tweaking a setting.

If you don't like to show all the recent tweets as on Twitter profile, you can be specific. Simply you can add search terms with and Twitter tab will display tweets match with your terms ignoring rest of tweets.

Would you think it would be nice to have a Twitter tab on your Facebook page too? You are few steps away ;)

Steps:

1. Log in to your Facebook account.

2. Navigate to Woobox Twitter page.

3. Now click on Install Twitter Tab button displayed on the page.

4. Now you will be directed to Facebook and prompt to select your Facebook page. Select your Facebook page  that you wanna add Twitter tab via drop down menu button and click Add Page Tab button.

5. You will need to authorize Twitter tab application. Click Authorize the Tab Application button.

6. Click Go to App button on the page.

7. Now you need to configure your Twitter tab. Provide your Twitter username in given text field.

Note: If you don't know your Twitter username, you can find at Twitter Account Settings.

8. Further you can customize Twitter stream and FanGate feature.

Show Tweets - You can either show your recent Twitter updates or your tweets match with specific terms.

Customize & Filter Stream - You can hide @Mentions from the stream and prevent Twitter background image showing on the tab.

Frequent Updates - Enabling frequent updates is recommended as your Twitter tab will be updated whenever your Twitter account get updated. Else your Twitter tab will refresh every 24 hours.

FanGate - Enabling  FanGate will ask your non-Facebook members to like your page before they view your tweets. You can display a web page, image or custom message using HTML on it too.

9. Now click Save Settings button.

10. Click View Tab button to view your Twitter tab on your Facebook page.

More Information:

* You can view visitor statistics for your Twitter tab. Click on Twitter tab on your fan page and click on Stats link on top right corner to see graphical representation of statistics.

* You can access settings for your Twitter tab by clicking on Settings link on top right corner of your Twitter tab.

* If you wanna change Twitter tab name or image, read How to Change Custom Tab Image and Name on Your Facebook Page.

Enjoy :-)

Awesome! Thanks for coming by and taking your time to read this post :) I hope you have learnt something today. Now you can share it with your friends and I'd love to hear from you too.

AWESOME Mayura!! I just added to both of my pages as well as the Pinterest tabs! Very cool info! Thank you!

Hi Mayura,

Another nice tutorial - and I'm glad I've got both, Twitter and Pinterest enabled long back on my page :) I think I'd again read it at a fellow bloggers place and put them up.

Oh yes...I think those who are interested would love to join in from the page too, and it's always better to have these in as many places as possible for making more connections.

I also like the fact that you can play with the colors of the background and fonts etc. to choose whichever you like. I wonder if I have seen the FanGate option as yet, though I feel anyone can see the tweets and why ask people to like our pages before doing so :)

Thanks for sharing this with us. Have a nice day ahead :)

Hi Mayura,

I never knew this can be done. It makes so much sense to do this. Thank you for a wonderful tutorial I can follow. Being that it is late night, I won't touch it right now, but will be back in full force tomorrow to install it.
You are so awesome!

Once again, awesome as usual Mayura!

I made sure to add this to my things to do today. I know your tutorial will guide me right through the set up process :)

I'm wondering if I can add this to my WFHConcepts page as well as my personal profile page?

Thanks for putting this great tutorial together! Have a great day Mayura!

Hey Brenda,

Awesome! :) I hope it will give more exposure to your Twitter and Pinterest accounts. The layouts are cool for tabs. Isn't it?

Thanks for coming over and sharing your thoughts dear :)

Cheers...

Mayura De Silva said...

Hi Harleena,

Cool... It's nice to hear you have had both installed at your Facebook page dear :) You weren't missing the exposure.

Oh yes, tabs can be attractive and those who land on Facebook page in first place would be glad to find they can follow updates on other social profiles too. Of course, if Facebook is not the place they spend most of their time. Plus, as you said, for more connections :)

I really like the feature which inherits colors and background too Harleena :) I'm with you there as I'm not a fan of FanGate option either. It's just for marketing perspective and to gain likes. But choice in their hands :)

Thanks for coming by and sharing your thoughts about the Twitter tab Harleena :)

Cheers...

Mayura De Silva said...

Hi Donna,

I believe you already did this 'cause I'm late to reply :D lol...

We can count on extra exposure for Twitter on Facebook and who would love Twitter will give it a look for sure dear.

As it's making it easy for users to follow and interact with your Twitter account, it doesn't holding 'em back either :)

Thanks for coming by and adding your thoughts on Twitter tab Donna :)

Hi Mosam,

That's really cool :) I hope you like the way it is as it offers very helpful settings and customization options.

Thanks for coming over and sharing your thoughts after adding it on your Facebook page Mosam :)

Hi Lisa,

Here you are. I've been thinking if someone would ask about the older post ;)

Well, I had to delete the old post dear. It's depreciated and I've found Woobox Twitter tab is far better than the one I shared before. Even fast loading.

Anyway I couldn't find a Twitter tab at your Facebook page, but Pinterest Lisa. Deleted? Anyway give it a try and you will like it even more :)

Thanks for dropping by and contributing your thoughts about Twitter tab Lisa :)

Hi Corina,

Nicey! :) I hope you will like the Twitter tab and the way it is. Well, add and experience it :)

Unfortunately it doesn't support personal profiles dear. As you notice, Facebook got rid of tabs from profiles with the new layout. But you can send your tweets or specific tweets to Facebook profile though.

Thanks for coming by and adding your thoughts about Twitter tab Corina :)

You have a wonderful day too dear :)

Hi Neamat,

That's awesome! Doer, eh? ;)

Now you have tweets up there and you can see increase of followers or interactions overtime with stats. Quite similar to Twitter experience. Isn't it? :)

I believe you will love the Pinterest tab too. The layout is really cool and attractive :)

Thanks for coming over and adding your thoughts after installing Twitter tab on your Facebook page Neamat :)

Yes. Okay understood. It's on my FancyScrubs page and maybe my personal one but not inspire since I don't have a Twitter account w/it I use my personal one.

Mayura De Silva said...

Oops... I thought it's Inspire to Thrive Lisa :)

What you have linked at your blog with the Twitter follow button dear? :) You can try search terms to filter out only tweets from your blog at Twitter tab too.

Cheers...

Mayura De Silva said...

Hi Angela,

Awesome! :) Ah, you are lovin' it too. You can change settings and make it more personalized if you need to. Glad to hear the walkthrough is simple enough ;)

Thanks for coming over and sharing your thoughts after installing Twitter tab Angela :)

Hi Mayura

This is brilliant mate! I've just added the Pinterest, Google+ and Twitter tabs to my Facebook Page.

The FanGate option sounds interesting. I'm not sure I fully understand what would happen if you added a link etc. I'll need to give it a try!

Have a great weekend Mayura.

Amy Hagerup said...

I'm on my way to do this too, Mayura. You are such a fantastic teacher. So practical too!!!

Mayura De Silva said...

Hi Rob,

You're welcome mate :) I believe you will enjoy the layout and features it has.

Thanks for coming by and sharing your thoughts Rob :)

Mayura De Silva said...

Hey Tim,

Really?! All of 'em? Awesome :)

I hope you are liking the layouts and the way it presents content on your different social profiles.

FanGate is interesting indeed. But I don't encourage it on social tabs as we don't need to add roadblocks for visitors to follow us or interact, no? :)

But when it comes to giveaway or such, I think that'd be a better option :) A win-win.

I hope you will give it a try and see what works best for you mate :) Testing... We need it always :)

Thanks for coming by and contributing your thoughts after installing tabs on your Facebook page Tim :)

You have a wonderful week mate :)

Hey Amy,

Aha... I hope you already made it dear :) Well, try it out and I believe you will like the way it is too.

Simple and easy to follow. Isn't it? :)

Thanks for dropping by and sharing your thoughts on this topic Amy :) I really appreciate your wonderful compliments too dear.

Hey Manickam,

You haven't been using Facebook much mate? :) Or is it Facebook page?

Social media steals your time though :) But it will worth as you can get more attention of people there.

You are right. It's saving time and mostly, getting more exposure for your Twitter account too :) When you promote your Facebook page, your Twitter account will get attention too.

I hope you will like the layout and how the tab works mate :)

Thanks for dropping by and sharing your thoughts about the Twitter tab Manickam :)

Hey Sue,

Ha ha... Now that's what I'm talking about. The techie is inside you and you need to allow her to be with you always ;)

Though you don't believe, I believe in you. I know you can :) It just takes some time to improve.

Now I'm glad you had it installed and I hope you like the way it is as I do :)

Thanks for coming by and letting me know about how you did it all alone Sue ;)

Cheers...

Sue Neal said...

You've more faith in my inner techie than I have, Mayura - in my experience she's highly unreliable and takes long vacations ;)

Lisa Buben said...

Question Mayura, I have 2 pages and it will not let me add another, is there another similar app I could use? Thanks!

Lisa Buben said...

Never mind I got it! I had to switch pages to do it :) Works great! Thanks Mayura.

Mayura De Silva said...

Hi Lisa,

Cool! Glad you figured it out dear :)

Thanks for sharing about how you did it here 'cause it sure gonna help someone looking for installing the tab on multiple pages :)

Cheers...

Representation Plus said...

Thanks for this Mayura...Quick question...How do you put multiple search terms in the Show Tweets section, if I use Samoa, Oman for example, it doesn't show anything...if I just put Samoa, it shows Tweets about Samoa...Do I need to use different punctuation or does it now load multiple search terms? Thanks!

Mayura De Silva said...

Hi Mate,

You're welcome :)

Good question. Well, Samoa, Oman doesn't work out in Twitter search. Use Samoa OR Oman to show all the tweets containing Samoa or Oman :) You can add more with OR operator.

Cheers...

Representation Plus said...

Great, knew there had to be a fix, just couldn't work it out! Have made the adjustment but looks like the Woobox API is down, or Twitter doesn't like it today as it's not loading anything...

Mayura De Silva said...

API problems can occur frequently :) Try again later on. I've tested it for mine and worked right now though.

Cheers...

rh said...

How do you exclude certain terms? For example, to exclude tweets containing myusername_

Mayura De Silva said...

You can hide @Mentions from the settings :) It will filter any tweet mention your username.

Hope it helps :)

UDWRocks said...

I love that my tweets are updated in real time on my facebook page. My only problem is that those same tweets also show up in my personal timeline. Is there a setting to disconnect that?

Mayura De Silva said...

Hi Mate,

Are you using Woobox Twitter tab or set up to post tweets to your Facebook profile / page?

If latter, follow this tutorial - How to Post Tweets on Your Facebook Profile, and turn off posting tweets to your Facebook profile.
